People who have received these defective parts may develop a condition called metallosis, a condition that occurs when the body reacts to a metal implant.  The way the replacement parts are designed, metal particles can flake off when the metal parts rub together. High metal particles in the bloodstream can result in health risks including tumors and neurological problems.  Metallosis can also cause a reaction where the body fights the implant, destroying bone and tissue.  This recall may impact as many as 93,000 people
